(or how to move onto a sailboat) With the advent of our 50th birthdays came the usual sorts of life evaluations that one goes through. At what have I succeeded? What contributions have I made? What do I have left that I want to do before I die? Living on the water was high on both our lists. For any who share the dream, and for our family members who might not understand, this is our story. We don't know where it will take us, but welcome along for the ride!

dYUM! and Yay - Deb!!!! Did you have to do anything special to adjust your pie baking to the small boat oven? I am hoping to do some cooking and baking this week. I don't know that I will tackle a pie but some sort of baked item is in store. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Looks yummy!
Sabrina - what make of oven do you have on the boat?
Are you going to stay in the water this winter ?

Bill,
Yes, we're going to stay in the water this winter. Even if we wanted to haul out we couldn't because we don't have any jack stands or a cradle and the only marina that can haul us on the lake is not our marina. Tim and I are both firm believers that sailboats are happier in the water. We'll get to the bottom paint when we haul out to move her back to Chicago.
Are you going to be using a bubblier system or the electric motor with a propeller ?
Bill, we move the boats that are staying in to adjacent piers and make "bubbler rafts." Kintala is port-side-to at the main pier with a friend's boat (who is also rebuilding an engine) along side. There are two other boats stern to stern with us across the finger pier, and two others bow to bow with us. I think there will be 4 bubblers running in the group.
Sounds good TJ, thanks for the answer.
