Early mornings, late nights, and lots of progress

A short picture collection from today.

We moved the stand pads and finished the red coat.

After the red coat cured for a few hours we did the black coat. After it sits all night we'll move the stand pads and paint under them as well. The coverage of the black over the red was phenomenal. It continues to impress us.

I think she's looking pretty good, don't you?

Late nights...

Our dinner view from the clubhouse.

Now that you've met the stringent standards for bottom beauty, you may load up your boat and bring it eastward.

Two weeks from today ... though we may need to buy a propeller first. The overhaul guy left us a message that he had "bad news on the prop", but he didn't tell us what that bad news is. So I guess we will find out tomorrow what this bitch of a boat has in store for us next ...

Theres a place out here called Millers Island that does everything prop. Cutlass bearings, stuffing boxes, shafts and props, etc..... They might be cheaper than what you can have done out there. They're good.

Thanks, we will definately look into it ...

The bad news is in: 2 of the 3 blades are cracked at the hub beyond repair.

....but the good news is you found it before it failed rounding Cape Hatteras.

Bill, thanks for the tip on Millers Island. They are going to ship a prop to the East Coast Marina, it will be waiting when we get there. It looks like we msy be able to pick Kintala off the truck, bolt up a prop, and toss it in the water. It will take a week or so to finish out the rigging and step the mast. We just might pull this off after all.
